We're always in a process of questioning, discovering, and nurturing faith in our lives.

To help us, we listen for the living word in Scripture. We listen to the witness of others and we watch and interact in the ways God is active in the world around us. Faith urges us to a full life, liberated for a living, daring confidence in God's grace.

ABOUT US

Who we are

A relatively young, but deeply rooted and connected congregation:

Spirit of Life began in 1993 as a mission development started by a group of people who recognized the need for a local congregation in the South Kitsap / Olalla area. From its beginning the primary vision is to be a congregation that serves as a community resource.

We are rooted in the historical and theological heritage of the Lutheran tradition.

How We Understand Faith

We are a church whose unity is in Jesus Christ, who gathers us around word and water, wine and bread. Spirit of Life believes in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In our preaching and teaching we trust that the Gospel shows the power of God's grace and unconditional love for all people.

Our teaching and theology serves the proclamation and ministry of this faith. It does not, however, have an answer for all questions, not even all religious questions. Our teaching and theology simply prepares us to be witnesses in speech and in action of God's rich mercy in Jesus Christ.
