Spirit of Life is a Welcoming, Renewing, Serving Intergenerational Community in Christ.
We are a community of faith, trusting in God, rooting ourselves in the sacramental understanding of God's grace, responding to community needs, devoting ourselves to prayer, Bible study and fellowship, welcoming all as Christ welcomes and witnessing to God doing new things in the community and in our lives. Together, we profess our belief in the risen Christ, and trust in the Lutheran understanding that we are all saved by God's grace through faith. Spirit of Life is friendly & welcoming to all.

Hello from Pastor Marietta!

… the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free … Romans 8:2

Indeed we are free in Christ, and at Spirit of Life Lutheran Ministries we celebrate and share this freedom through worship, through service, through loving one another in the midst of this ever-changing, ever-challenging thing we call life.

My name is Marietta Nelson-Bittle, and I am the pastor at Spirit of Life. In my first call as a pastor, I have served Spirit of Life since 2021, and bring a wealth of life experience to this position. My partner served 21 years on active duty with the US Navy. We have been married for more than 30 years and have three adult children. I spent many years working in newspaper journalism and school communications.

I invite you to see what God is up to at Spirit of Life on this life-changing journey of freedom in Christ. Through Christ, God is calling us all into a new way of being and a new unity with God and with other people. At Spirit of Life, your soul will be fed, your hands will be clasped in community, and your gifts will be engaged to serve and love other people and God’s beautiful creation.
